Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2015 Christi Lynn Landrito McGarry, 24, won first runner-up honors at the 44th Miss Intercontinental Pageant held at Maritim Congress Hotel in Magdeburg, Germany last December 18 (December 19 PH time).
McGarry, who was first announced as Continental Queen for Asia-Oceania, placed second to eventual winner Valentina Rasulova of Russia, who also took the continental award for Europe, succeeding Pataraporn Wang of Thailand, last year’s winner.
McGarry, a 5’11” Pinay beauty from New Jersey, USA, who represented her mother’s hometown of Nabua, Camarines Sur at the 52nd Bb. Pilipinas Pageant last April, improved on her top 15 finish in the same pageant held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2010, in her capacity then as a Mutya ng Pilipinas winner.
Christi is the second Bb. Pilipinas titlist to compete and place in Miss Intercontinental. Last year, Bb. Pilipinas acquired the franchise for the Germany-based pageant and sent Kris Tiffany Hanson to the 43rd edition of the tilt also in Germany. Hanson placed second runner-up and won the continental award for Asia-Oceania.
Christi joins her Bb. Pilipinas co-titlists who competed and won honors in their respective tilts abroad namely: Ann Lorraine Colis, Miss Globe 2015; Parul Shah, Miss Grand International 2015 3rd runner-up and Best National Costume winner; Janicel Lubina, Miss International 2015 top 15 finalist and Miss Best Dresser winner; and Rogelie Catacutan, Miss Supranational 2015 top 20 semi-finalist.
All eyes now are on Miss Universe-Philippines 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who will gun to the Philippines’ 3rd Miss Universe crown at the pageant’s 64th finals on December 20 (December 21 PH time).
Congratulations to Christi, Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. and Aces & Queens for a job well done!
